Alain Bombard<\/h3>\n

A doctor, biologist and sailor, Alain Bombard was a fervent advocate of marine protection.
\nA pioneer of survival at sea, in 1952 he proved that it was possible to cross the Atlantic on an inflatable raft using only ocean resources.
